Ana Avalos Tizol is Maya K’iche’ born and raised in Guatemala; immigrated to San Francisco’s Mission District and attended Mission High School. Ana earned a Bachelor’s in Feminist Studies and in Spanish Literature from UC Santa Cruz. Also, she attended the University of San Francisco and earned a Master’s in International Studies with an emphasis on Reproductive Rights in her indigenous community. Ana is the Workforce Development Director and leading the new program, Impact Gen, a community for first-generaton young professionals. This program aims to support both college students and college graduates to develop their skills, expand their networks, explore careers and provide professional mentorship opportunities.
