This elective cycle Bryant students are conquering computer skills! The opportunity to use technology is something about which every student gets excited. On Thursdays and Fridays a group of fourth and fifth graders focus that excitement to learn something new on the computer.
First, they did a research project about their favorite animal. They learned how to search the internet for facts about their animal of choice, including their habitat, food, and life cycle. They learned how to open and work Microsoft Word, including how to use the copy and paste shortcuts. They also practiced typing, formatting, and printing photos from the internet without printing the whole website.
For Mother’s Day they made cards also using Microsoft Word, learning how to switch a page from portrait to landscape and further practicing the copy and paste shortcuts for pictures. Students love being able to learn about their interests and express their opinions in a new format.
